Статья посвящена переводческим ошибкам, допущенным в 2020 г. при синхронном переводе политических дебатов кандидатов в президенты Соединенных Штатов Америки Дж. Байдена и Д. Трампа. Актуальность исследования определяется общей потребностью выявить наиболее трудные аспекты перевода американского политического дискурса, а также прагматических характеристик переведенных текстов в сфере политической коммуникации. Анализ исследуемого материала показал, что ошибки переводчиков можно разделить на несколько видов: лексико-грамматические и ошибки, связанные с незнанием культурно-специфичных понятий, некорректным переводом этнических номинаций и имен собственных, устойчивых выражений и сленгизмов. В статье проводится качественный и количественный анализ переводческих ошибок.

The article is devoted to translation errors made in 2020 during the synchronic translation of the political debates of US presidential candidates J. Biden and D. Trump. The relevance of the research is determined by the general need to identify the most difficult aspects of translating American political discourse, as well as the pragmatic characteristics of translated texts in the field of political communication. The analysis of the studied material showed that the mistakes of translators can be divided into several types: lexical and grammatical errors and errors related to ignorance of culturally specific concepts, incorrect translation of ethnic nominations and proper names, sеt expressions and slangisms. The article provides a qualitative and quantitative analysis of translation errors.
